Special characters in extra fields and matching field names

Hi,

I must be annoying user but I hope someone can help me with these issues that I'm facing.

Is there any way to get extra fields with special characters included in search? Also there are problems with child lists: if I have in parent drop down list an option with special character I will not be able to get child drop down list opened. Example - there is an option "toys" and in toys there is a new option "m�ngud" (games) which should open child drop down list called also "m�ngud". If I replace � with a then it is ok. But I can't do that.

And another one - I cannot have have two different child drop down list with tha same name (although their ID-s are different). Example - I have two categories - kids and adults. They both should have an option called "clothes" - so if I choose kids for example I get two child drop downs "clothes" and "clothes" opened (one is for kids and another one for adults). It won't help if I choose different internal names and the same field name.

The way the parent child extra fields are designed child fields are loaded by quering the db for the name of the parent. So yes I can see how special characters could cause that. You may want to file a bug report and we will see if we can change this.
