Last night I was going through some previous forums post, and came across about adding if/else statement in the title tag, well I did one small modification to it, in which I thought it made sense, it's doing what I want it to do, but I am not understanding the logic of it and where it's now living? In the database or file?

my orginal layout.tpl.php file.....

<head>

<title>MyDivorceSales - Sell & buy items - cars, homes, jewelry, electronics... anything</title>

<meta name="Keywords" content="divorced, divorce, unwanted items, breakup, splitup, sell, buy, classifieds, garage sales, estate sales, realtors, real estate, moving sales, selling, buying, used, new, storage, wedding, rings, electronics, cars, trucks, yard sales, boats," />

<meta name="Description" content="Post free ads and search through our classifieds ads for unwanted items and everything else." />

ok here is the code I found in a thread,

<title>{if $listingtitle}{$listingtitle}{$title}{else}{$title }{/if}<title>

here is what I did to modify it it for my website....

<title>{if $listingtitle == $title}{$listingtitle}{$title}{else}{$title}{/if}<title>

seems to work, but I took the code out and just left

<title>{$title}<title>

and I can not figure out how to get it back to normal just to the <title><$title></title> to get back to the main description of what I put in the administration side ...it is now permently listing the title and description title of an ad with this code that I went back to <title>{$title}<title>.

mysite is My Divorce Sales

Any help and logic why his is doing what its doing would be appreciated....

You may want to try deleting your templates_c folder and see if that sorts it out.
