Default login/add ad problem

After my problem with 2 Trojan files, I found that a lot of other files like the index.htm files had bad code so I started replacing them. I think I've gone wrong somewhere and now I have the following problem.

When you are not logged in and it shows Welcome Guest insted of the members name, when you click on add ad insted of it going to userlogin.php it goes to usercheckout.php (choose category).
Where have I gone wrong?

Sounds to me like there is some whitespace somewhere in the code. Normally the usercheckout will redirect you to login if you aint. Redirects wont work if there is some whitespace in the code such as before or after the <? ?>

Just one little space can cause this. Ive no idea where the space might be. You may need to go through a whole lot of functions to find it. Thats assuming this is the problem.

There aren't any index.htm files except in a few directories. Those files are blank and only serve the purpose of thwarting browser based file directory browsing.

Larry I do have a backup but from time back and I've made changes since. At the time I was right into it but now as I haven't done anything with the site for some time I've lost touch. I just thought I may have had a usefull reply so I could just change the files I needed to.

The problem is, as you have said, you made changes and obviously the trojan made changes. Its near impossible for anyone here to know what you or it changed.

Heck, for all we know the trojan wreaked havoc with you .htaccess file and you links are different because of that. Wish I had a good answer for you but the best bet would be to start with a clean slate. Delete all your files and restore a backup. I know its not what you want to hear but your situation is a good lesson to everyone how important backups are.
