Hi guys
I know that this question is a bit aside from the core issues in this forum, but I ask anyway. I am planning to protect parts of my site with https:// and I understand that I can activate the cert from my control panel. What I don't know how to do is to get the cert itself. How do I get a cert and the keys needed? Is there a website that offers this? Thank you Regards Oyvind

An SSL certificate basically states you are who you say you are and allos encrypted data transmission. Just like registering a domain name there are many places that sell ertificates (ie http://www.verisign.com/ssl/ ).
If your just interested in encryption you can in many cases (host dependant) simply create your own self signed SSL certification. This is used to encrypt data but of course does nothing to really verify your identity. |

GoDaddy has some pretty cheap SSL Certs. Be sure to speak with your host before buying one. Usually, the hosts I've been with actually do the install themselves.
