I would like to remove the option to have free listings at all, and only make listings available to folks with memberships. Everytime I add a new listing package, it allows a user that does not have a membership to post free ads willy nilly.
Any suggestions? I have had a trawl around the forum but I have never been the queen of Search. I am running V3.1.10 Designer. TIA Amanda |

I'm not sure that I'm following your logic about how you are running your site, but I'll take a stab at a solution.
First off, when you make listing package you need to assign it to a category(ies) that can use the listing package and as you're using memberships, you also assign the listing packages to memberships as well. The way memberships work is that they are paying in advance for listing packages that can be used with that membership. So, when you put those together... When you make your listing packages, you put a price on them. When someone has a membership and chooses a listing package regardless of what the price of the listing package is, they are not charged. Unfortunately, I don't know of anyway to not allow a registered user to not place an ad. It sounds like you are making listing packages with a $0 costs, therefore registered users can then chose those packages and place their $0 ad. If I'm misunderstanding, then please correct me. Hope that helps, -Mike

Hi Mike,
I think you're following me. ![]() My main site, canadianneigh.com, has a decent following on the forum and in the directory/stallion showcase. In an effort to populate my ads but start making money (soonish) as I've been running the site for a year and a half now out of pocket, I am going to unleash coupons to the users in my forum (probably 20 or so), and a couple of other forums I use. I don't want there to be a pay per ad price at all - but I think I am seeing there is no way to do that. Let me toy around a little bit more. I think that everything wasn't making sense until you said this: Quote:
Thanks for being gentle, I am a bit of a blonde to start things out, and further, still new to this whole thing. Amanda |
