Default category.php SER shows menu items

Gday,
Google has indexed my site and on the categories pages, not all of them, it shows the menu items down the left hand side (default template) as the description. it makes it look kind of 'spammy' as some words are mentioned twice and they look like 'keywords'.

anyony know if this is sopposed to happen and possibly a resolution?
im using the designer version of 3.1.

thanks
Paul

We solved this by adding a few sentences of content above the category results.

i have an image then some text below like this:

http://www.useddirtbikes.com.au/category.php?type=17

are you saying that i should put that text above the image?

or would i be better off editing the: <meta name="Description" content="" /> and adding description to all the categoies pages?

thanks

That's a good amount of text, but I'd put it right below the breadcrumb, above the image and above that row of links. And shrink that image too - it's entirely too large IMO.

68C already provides for this when you edit/create categories.
