Default Adding search option to main site search page?

I want to ad the (sort listings by and the ascending/descending field that has the drop down options like in the administration search settings page to the main search page. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

For one thing you have messages in the V3 and the V4 forum and never stated what version or template your working with so any form of complete answer is a bit much to be expected.

As for sorting the ads, you can sort them by clicking on the column headers already.

Sorry! I am using the 3.1 for my site which is boatingswapshop.com and my cousing is using the 4.0.3 for jeepswapshop.com I work on both. I am using the belmont homes template in the 3.1. I want to give the user the option to sort listing by: what they want.

They can already do this by clicking the title of column they want to sort by.

I understand they can click on the title, price, etc. and sort by that but I would like to give them the options on the search page. Plus on my 3.1 when I click on the price to sort by ascending or descending it does only that page. But on the 4.0 when you click on the price it does all the pages... ? Plus many users do not know to click on the price to sort the listings. Thanks for your time larry.
