Featured Listing on remote site..

O.K. Half way there, the problem is I have the "designer" version 3.1

I have created a featured.tpl.php

Now I need to pull that with something like index.php but called featured.php, but only pulls the featured info required, image, title, link to listing.

Can anyone help me with this.

I can pull the info from the site using an <iframe> and place it on other sites.

NOTE: Please don't reply, you can use the RSS. No I can't, otherwise I would have.

feature_listings_horizontal is a smarty plugin and it wont run if called from another site. Your going to have to build your own script and even if you cant use the rss output from the file external.php you could use that file as a starting point to create the script that queries the ads.

The new featured.tpl.php file that you have created has no php file that points to it. So, you would have to create a featured.php file that sends the results from a db query to that template.

I've tried to be creative coming up with a solution for you but there's really no easy way to do this without the Developer's version.

YES!!! So can you please attach a featured.php for download.

I am not sure how to create the featured.php and this is where I need the assistance.

That is why I clearly stated <iframe>

You can pull a file or object from http://www.yourclassifiedssite.com/feature.php into the <iframe>

It may show up on the host site, but where is the script being run from?

Besides Blair, this will solve a problem which has been requested several times on your forum but never really seems to be properly addressed.

This will only work with a file that pulls the smarty plugin. This can not be done with the Designer edition and would require the Developer edition.

yeah, hear that. I will be upgrading to Developer when I am finished with my current web site development.
