Is there a way to design the category pages to a 2-column listing?

I mean for the actual listings, not the category navigation.
If I go to "Homes for Sale", for instance, I want to be able to list the homes in a 2 column table instead of the default 1 at a time. I've looked at all the templates and they don't seem to offer that. |

I would say it is possible. However you would have to modify the showlistings.tpl.php template file. I would recommend reading up on Smarty's website about foreach and maybe section.
