Registration Filter Module

Maybe somebody would like to make a mod similar to CIV scam filter but for registration. I mean to allow registration only from certain countries and if the user is not from these countries to show them the notice (pop up window) that they not allowed.

Hmm that's an idea - we could do that pretty easily to work just like our scam filter works. I'll take a look - I think there's even a hook there already.

I have updated our Scam Filter module to include your requested features. When a member outside the "whitelist" of allowed countries attempts to register, his account level is immediately set to 4 ('Banned'). This prevents him from signing in (error message displays, may be customized in language file).

We decided this is better than preventing registration altogether since it gives the admin more control over what to do with the offending user. If for some reason you decide that a banned user is legit, simply unban the user.

This update is available at no charge to all current users of Scam Filter.

Just a quick question, I have �Require Email Validation� disabled and customers signed in automatically after registration. What is going to happen in this case?

Which module are you using for signing in new registrants automatically?

It is not a module; it is how 68C originally set up.
If �Require Email Validation� disabled in admin the customers going straight to userindex.php after registration and they don�t have to signin.

Interesting - that's not how our 3.1.5b install works and we have email validation disabled as well.

It shouldn't matter either way though with our module.
