E-Mail filter and IP/Domain blocking...

Ok... so here is something I have found on a few other sites that would be useful in 68: (how did I find them... well... errrr.... I just did)

1) A filter that checks for keywords or phrases in e-mail being sent to adertisers from visitors...

Why? Stop your competitors from sending mail to your advertisers using your system. I would block all mail being sent from a listing page that included key words or phrases (like someone's [email protected])

2) A filter that bans email being sent where the sender's email matches a domain filter like the above

I would define stuff like "advertise for free", "*@mycompetitorsdomain.com", "invite you to"....

3) A list report showing how many mail messages were sent through the system in a period of time with the following columns:

a)AD ID
b)Sender's Email Address
c)Body Text (with a short version and a [more] link)
d)Time & Date

Basically, I am snooping at who is using my email system and what is being sent to my customers. I don't feel guilty and this will not only let me identify common scams and frauds unfolding but keep my users free from a barrage of solicitations

I would like this in place as soon as possible. Maffo, Civ or Juven14 could probably code pretty quick. If anyone else would like to have this feature, your replies here might get one of the gurus to jump on this mod.

I love 68 but just keep finding little things to make it #1 out there.

We are already checking IPs for all of our contact methods and we are currently working on checking them when payment is made as well. Perhaps we should release that as a mod - we weren't sure how much desire for it was out there. As for keyword checking, that would be easy to add.

Ok... can it create the report? Something where I could select a sender and ban them or jump from the report to a popup where I could add banned senders with a wildcard or static address and keywords or phrases would be ideal. I would suck to have to leave the report and regenerate each time after adding the ban or filter...

Can you do this as a mod? How soon, how much?

The IP is not really that important since so many people have dynamic IPs from their ISP. It is really not meaningful except to give to authorities if there is a fraudulent payment. The IP should be captured for ALL payments. It is the only lead the police can use to track the bloke who used a stolen credit card or hijacked paypal account.
