Prevent Browse Categories Table for hidden categories

Hi there,

I've decided to consolidate the categories on my site up into just 2 tiers, currently I have a much more complicated structure which I hope will be of use in the future but for now I am just hiding sub categories and not allowing ads to be placed in them via the admin panel. I'm also moving any existing ads to the second tier.

I started with my first category Free-2-Take>>Automotive in which I hid two sub categories which it happens had no ads in them. When I browse Automotive though I still get the Browse Categories table appearing in the top half of the screen, I'd prefer not to see it as I have hidden all the sub categories of it and it looks slightly out of place now.

Any ideas how to acheive this ?

Are you still using v3.0.14 (as you signature says)? If so, suggest you upgrade to v3.0.15.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but that 'could' solve the problem.

Hi Chaslie,

Somewhere between 3.0.14/15 manually copied most of the files from 15 so can't give a good answer I'm afraid. I'm curently just cataloging any manual changes I made (should have done this to begin with !) so I can go the whole way and update to 3.1.

Just an update fro anyone reading in the end I just shrank all my categories down ino 1 level , decided there was no need for too big a category structure.

Have upgraded to 3.1 now but still have same issue, any way to remove this ?
