Hey all, I am sure many of you have looked into getting Wordpress Login Integration as part of your Classifieds site. The reason behind it for me has been to allow users to have more reason to come back, especially when the site is still new. I wanted the login integration to be combined so that I can get users to comment on certain topics that have been posted and to have a better integration across the web page (especially when it comes to galleries and pages). I have found an application called External DB authentication, its a plugin for Wordpress. From what i've seen so far it blocks off the login/user creation steps as part of Wordpress and links to a non wordpress database just for the user login component. It can work with a user on the database that has Select Only access and it can read which encryption method the password has been created. http://wordpress.org/plugins/external-database-authentication/installation/ I will be testing this out tonight and pass back on my findings.
Using the plugin above I have successfully integrated the 68classifieds Database and my wordpress user login interface. It was suprisingly easy and has opened up SOOO much more on the site including Gallerys, Event Diaries etc. Its opened up a world more content to the site next to the Classifieds.
