    Description

TinyMCE is a platform independent web based Javascript HTML WYSIWYG editor control released as Open Source under LGPL by Moxiecode Systems AB. It has the ability to convert HTML TEXTAREA fields or other HTML elements to editor instances. TinyMCE is very easy to integrate into other Content Management Systems.

I have downloaded the module and activated it in my site, but it doesn't show up - how do I implement it?

Do you have the html editor enabled in main settings in your 68C admin control panel? In addition make sure you clear your browser cache.
  4. crossroads Customer

I've looked everywhere and I can't seem to find that setting option.
  5. seymourjames All Hands On Deck

You are correct. It seems to have disappeared from 4.1. I believe it used to be in main settings for 4.09. Strange it is not showing up - needs further investigation. What browser and version are you using?
  6. crossroads Customer

    I'm using Firefox 3.0.6

Try to re-install again and activate. Do clear browser and your template caches. I have seen this problem occur in safari but not with firefox.

this doesnt seem to work in i.e?

it works in firefox, but not i.e 7

it gives the javascript error 'expected identifier, string or number"

also does anyone know if there is an addon to this tinymce available to upload images into the tinymce editor? rather than just entering the url?

    Hi,

You may want to try and manually upgrade the TinyMCE files from a new download from their site. The modules is basically just a wrapper to include it using their instructions.

    Tiny MCE

I've downlloaded the Tiny MCE from their website, copied it to my site and tried to upgrade it to work but I still have the old version. I have 4.1.0 RC4 running, Developer.. How can I get the MCE to run?

    Thanks

    Rowiep,
You really should be upgrading to v4.1 or better still, to v4.1.1.
The version you are using is an 'in development' version and has known bugs and it isn't fair on those who wish to provide you with help to do so for this version.

    Tiny MCE

I upgraded to 4.1.1 developer and then deleted all the Tiny MCE files, in the Java and the module, I then went to the Tiny MCE site downloaded the developer MCE and uplaoded the files to the Java file and the Module file. Still the same ole Tiny MCE program. And I cannot write HTML it show up on the page.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I just released an upgrade to this module yesterday. Can you download it again and see if that works? If not please contact me from my site and I will see if I can pinpoint the problem.

Thank you Eric, but it slao do not work for me, 4.1.2 Developer Version.
Is active in the admin menĂ¼, but not shown in the Page Editor.

I did a fresh download on a fresh v4.1.2 install and had no issues. Can you try to deactivate every module then activate just it and see if it works.

If that doesn't sort it out see if you are getting javascript errors.
  18. Dirk New Member

now it works. i deactivate all modules and activate it one by one and check after every activation if it works.
The problem is the MarkItUp Module. If this is activated, i does not work. I have no idea what this module does.?
    Dirk
  19. Eric Barnes Guest

They both try to do the same thing. Markitup is an included alternative to tinymce.
  20. michael Just get on with it!

Quick question. Wouldn't an html editor like tinymce allow users to post images that they otherwise would have been charged for?
