problems Upgrading to newest version

  1. newyork Designer v4.2.0

    Currently running Designer v4.1.10

    Hello Im trying to upgrade to v4.2.0
    I followed all the instructions and uploaded them to my ftp, now Im at the point where I need to run the upgrade when I go to example - http://www.yoursite.com/setup

    I get a 404 error

    What could I be doing wrong when I upload to my ftp host?

    You have not uploaded the setup folder (as included in the upgrade) as it does not exist on your server and that is why you get the message.

    I uploaded every file included in the upgrade and it still gave me the 404 error,so I decided to erase all the files and start fresh.
    so now with all the files uploaded again its still showing the error,I made sure the setup folder was there and everything looks right in my host panel but my sight is not upgrading or even showing my classifieds admin login page.

    This should be a simple task what am I overlooking? Thanks for your help

    404 is the error you get when the page does not exist. Where are you uploading your files to? Are you sure you have the correct path http://www.yoursite.com/setup and it is not a case you have put all your files in a subdirectory.

    This may seem really dumb, but you are actually changing the url from "yoursite" to the actual name of your classifieds site, right?

    Thanks for your help everyone.

    update I went back and found I was not putting the files in the correct directory,
    so I did and I went to my site setup and it was there filled out all the info, it sayed it installed correctly.

    now I can see the home page of my website but I cant get to my admin login its showing the 404 code

    this is my site 68 Classifieds

    also I have no clue how to delete the setup directory havent done that yet.
