What version of 68 Classifieds are you running? v4.1.10 Developer Hello, When i add a listing from 68C admin and then try to add an image, the image is uploaded ok and puts a thumbnail in the the thumbs directory as it should, but the image doesnt show, just a image placeholder (red cross). I have found the problem to be the image permissions are set wrong, the image has permissions of 600 instead of 644, if i change the permissions of the new thumbnail, it then shows ok... I have checked all permissions of installation folders and all ok.. My hosting company don't want to play ball and keep telling me it is a script problem. This was working fine up an till a couple of weeks ago. Can anybody advise on this, i am completely stumped! Thanks for any help Mark
If things just stopped working a couple weeks ago and you didnt change anything, ask your host for a detailed list of any changes they may have made around the time things started going wrong.
Thanks for the reply Larry. My host are not playing ball, they insist its a script problem which it isnt. Ill have another go at them. Mark
I understand and read that in your first post. Im not saying you call them and blame them, people generally get defensive, but at the same time, you can tell them those details will help you isolate the problem in your script. Most "real" companies have "change request" procedures that must be followed any time any server softwrae, hardware or configs are changed. This means there should be a detailed list of what was changed somewhere and if they can not provide that to you, find a new host.
Hi, this is the response i got back from my hosting support, not much joy there!! =================================================================== No changes have been made to the system configuration at all. Because you are on a shared platform and changes made could affect thousands of customers and for this reason we do not amend any of the configuration. With regards to your particular issue the permissions set to files when they are uploaded are set by the CMS itself. It designates the permissions during the upload process. If you search online through the forums you will see that other people of had similar issues with Wordpress, joomla, Drupal etc. You will need to speak to the developer of your particular software to troubleshoot the issue further. ================================================================== Can anybody offer any advise here? Thanks Mark
Thats all fine and dandy but if you didnt change anything with 68C and it was working then scripts dont just change how they function on their own.
