Okay, so far I am SO EXTREMELY HAPPY with my 68 Classifieds!!! My client that I am building the site for is happy as well. We are a few weeks out yet before we can go live ( a month actually) and I was testing out my packages and came across something that I don't even know if it is possible! I am getting that the coding is pretty intense and I happen to work with programmers all day so I understand what y'all go through so just hear me out and if it is no, well then I will figure out a way to handle it later....

In my Pricing Packages my client wants to offer what would be called a "Farm Package" (Horse Classifieds site) - where a customer would pay x amount of dollars and have the ability to list "Up to 10 Horses" for one low price.

The problem is that they still would only have the option of filling out one listing page. If say I needed to add 9 more...is that possible? Or would i have to have them purchase the package, complete one listing and then manually add the other 9?

It doesn't sound easy to me so let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks so much,
    Jill

    Hi Jill,

Sadly, this was a feature in the version 3.x known as memberships and was dropped in version 4.

One work around might be to offer a coupon.
Example: Your standard listing price of a single photo ad is $5.00
Offer a $50.00 coupon for half price, $25.00 (or whatever price you want)
The coupon is entered at $50.00 in the admin. The customer can then use the coupon to place 10 $5.00 ads. Unfortunately, you would still have to have a different way to purchase the coupon. I set up a separate static page with a standard PayPal button for payment. Upon receipt of payment, I email them their coupon code and instructions.

I've done this as "Fund raisers" for our Church and actually printed out the coupons, as well as a PayPal button on the church website (emailed coupon) and just let the Church keep all of the money.

I also do an email coupon promotion to encourage registration. Once they register AND activate their account, I send them an email with the coupon code with a $5.00 value (equal to a single photo ad in most categories, but they can use it for whatever they want to).

    Hope this helps,
    -Mike

A bulk listing system (not bulk upload system - that already exists) will be appearing on supermarket shelves hopefully within 2 months for v4

Coupons - sorry to bring this up again...

But...I have to get this package up there!

I noticed that in the Dashboard you can set up coupons. Is this not what that option is for?

This is what I would like it to do, but I have no idea if it does or can work that way:

    1. Buyer purchases a Farm Package at $199.00 - which is really 10 of my "Gold Packages" that allow him to upload 5 photos and 1 video for $57.99.

    2. Because he has selected this package, a coupon is generated and sent to him that he can put in after seclecting the Gold Package - 9 more times - but these 9 would be free (100% off) and he would not be charged.

Is this how it works or am I way off base?

Sorry guys, but my client is asking and I need to be able to tell him something.

    Thanks in advance!

I think you could use the Usergroup function in a smiliar way. it might not be as cut and dry as a 10 pack idea because you couldn't monitor number of lisitngs automatically, but it would be a way to reward bigger buyers.

Create a coupon or discount for a certain user group, like a Gold Club type of offer. ($120 up front and $50 off your normal ad price of 57.99 or some kind of combination like that)

Have a manual payment option, and once the payment is made, add that seller to that usergroup. This seller will now have a discounted ad posting rate for however long you want the membership to last. Yes, they will have unlimited ads ability, but you will still get the upfront membership fee, and then the reduced payment everytime they post a new ad for as long as their membeship is active.

Of course you would still have to manually monitor the length of the time that seller is in that usergroup, and then switch them back when it expires.

Llimit the lenght of the membership to what you think is a normal time period to post this many ads, and let the seller know they need to post them within this time period. Obviously, the more ads they post, the better the deal is for them, and vice versa.
