What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
    Example: V4.1.6 Designer
    v4.1.9 Developer
    What template are you using?
    Template codes

Please describe in detail the issue you are having: I have customers who having selected a paid for advert who then fail to complete it on their first or second attempt are placing the listing for free on their second or third attempt. For some reason no payment is being requested. This only happens if a customer has failed once or twice to complete a listing and it doesn't happen every time. Any ideas as it's very frustrating losing revenue this way.

    What payment method?

Rapid question: are you using the "Stop Incomplate Listing" module?
  4. mikthefinn Customer

    I'm using paypal
  5. mikthefinn Customer

No I'm not, why do you think this may help?

Are you saying that they are coming back and still selecting a paid package and it is not requesting payment or are you saying that they are coming back and selecting a free package which would be their right to do so if you offer a free listing?

They are coming back and selecting the same paid for package as selected initially but are able to activate the advert without making payment

Are you using quick checkout or the standard one?

    I have got something similar.
Somebody want to place a featured listing and choose the paid option. After completing the standard checkout procedure something went wrong in the end and the listing was placed in his account but the listing was in first not shown at the website. Via the account the featured listing was somehow activated without receiving any payment in PayPal and is now shown in the featured part of the website
I have simulate is myself and indeed it is possible to place featured paid listings on the website for free!

I'm a little concerned about this. How to solve this issue? Maybe I screwed up something in the payment providers?

Somebody who had the same issue and came to a solution?

Ok, I think I have it. I have now only activated Paypal as payment provider.
If I test it I can still place normal free listings and I can place featured paid listings. I think this will do the trick, but I will do some more test and try to simulate mistakes.

The problem is, the editlisting function in listings.php doesnt have what it needs to change the values of highlighted - bold - or featured for an ad once someone uses the breadcrumb to go back and deselect those options if they were previously selected.

When you initially submit an ad, it uses a function (addlisting I believe) to create the listing, and you get forwarded to the next step. However when you go back using breadcrumbs, and edit the ad details step, it uses an entirely different function (editlisting I believe). That function is missing the values for highlight, bold & featured. What you initially submitted as far as ad upgrades go, cant be edited once initially sumitted.

Have you created a bug report?
  13. TheTechGuru Customer

Sorry Not yet, New to the board, still figuring things out during my quick 5 min breaks here and there.

I will submit one as soon as I get a spare min, so it can be looked into.

Question, is the demo site updated with the releases? Does anyone know what version its running?
  14. John Snyder Staff

The demo is 4.2.1 I think. This bug will be fixed in 4.2.2, thanks for bringing it to my attention.
