What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
    Example: V4.2.4 Developer

    What template are you using?
    My Own

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:

Okay, I purchased and did a clean install of V4.2.2 Developer today. Spent all day long recreating my categories, set up settings...blah blah blah.

I get everything set up and try to make a registered member user account for myself and I can't! I fill in all the fields and press the "submit" button and the pages takes a few seconds and reloads without doing anything???

Any ideas? This is a clean install using my old template from V4.0.9 Developer.

What was your error? I upgraded to the latest version and am having people randomly not be able to confirm their email. The receive the confirmation email, but when they click on it, it takes them to the user login screen: "I am sorry, but you have registered and not validated your account. Click here to have the email validation resent".

My 2nd problem is when I go in as Admin and try to manually change them to "Registered User", it kicks me back to the admin login screen.

It sounds like your hosting server has register_globals on (a big security risk per php themselves and is OFF by default installation). I would contact your hosting service to see about getting that turned off, at least for your account. I can't tell you how to do it, because it varies greatly between service providers and how they have php installed as well as their settings.

Thanks, Mike. I have been struggling with my webhost all week. They swear it is OFF. Very frustrating! In addition, One of our users who is technically still awaiting email confirm was able to login successfully, and another person registered with no problems. I still cannot change my unregistered users to registered users via admin.

But I will contact my web host again to see if they have any ideas (machighway.com).

According to that information, register_globals is off. So, it must be something else that is causing your issue. That is a strange issue especially as it is intermittent. As far as your issue with the admin, I would open a support ticket if you are under a current support agreement. The only thing that I have seen that causes you to go back to the login screen is the register globals being set on.

Hi Mike - It was an issue with the php.ini file. Our 68C software is in a folder in the root, so we had a php.ini file in both directories so I think we removed one from the root and kept one in the 68 folder. Site works great now. Thanks!

Nancy, I'm glad that you got it sorted out. I would STRONGLY recommend that you remove the link and the phpinfo.php file on your site as you do not want others access to that file for security reasons.

BTW, I also wanted to say, that I love your site design. You did a fantastic job with it and is one of the best and unique designs that I've seen!
