Module - Seller Store

Well, it was more of a suggestion to the authors for a much needed improvement to this module than a How To for non-coders.

I'm guessing Nick did it by modifying 68c code, I'm just suggesting this wouldn't be too hard to modify the module itself to do without 68c code edits.

From reading this thread, the name "Seller Store" is setting expectations a little high for what the module does. It would be nice to see it updated to provide a little more visibility for users who take the time to create a 'store'.

I'm kind of slammed with some other issues at the moment, but I may have a hack at it some time soon.

Once again sounds like its not installed properly. Within the module there is likely a folder with a name that resembles the name of the module you need to upload the FOLDER AND ITS CONTENTS to the modules folder on your site.

check the manual at the link belore for more details.

I uploaded the whole folder, When I went to this link with my url it had a 404 error. I understand that it was probably uploaded incorrectly but I'm not sure how to upload it "correctly". I just removed the whole folder from the server.
Mainly I am interested in the member rating mod now, that is also not showing up in the admin mods. But the folder is showing in the server side..
what to do? clicking regenerate dosen't help...

    folder in folder

I was finally able to upload the seller store, it was a folder in folder issue.
But all it does is list the items a seller has. It dosen't have enough features for what I need. I want an actual store so that I can charge people a monthly fee
to have a store (like ebay) on my classifieds site . So if a user is searching for
an item in classifieds a seller's related item will show up also.

I did find a script that is a mall script in php that has a lot of features, I'm not sure if it will integrate properly but i'm going to try and see...

I've added an 'All Seller Stores' option to this module, which shows a list of all stores, see attached image. I added a 'short description' to the existing store edit page, to use in the 'all stores' list. The list also shows the number of ads in each store.

I've got some more work to do on this stuff, like adding pagination to the list, the option to show the sellers store thumbnail on their ad listings, adding 'featured store' functionality, etc.

When I'm done, I'll ZIP it up and give it to Eric, who can then release an updated version if he wants to. I have no desire to support it in the long term, LOL! I just wanted to give Seller Stores more visibility on our site.

Eric - let me know if you think you are interested, and I can rebuild it against the 4.1 SVN once you've sorted out the new hook architecture.

I will be offering a new module called "Super Sellers" that will have all of the functionality of the "Sellers Store" plus a whole lot more including the ability to show all of the Super Sellers in a list format similar to the screenshot that you see posted in this list.

The "Super Sellers" module will include much more information for the Super Sellers, such as address, phone, fax, logo, web url link, RSS feed link and contact link. I even added two more custom fields that you as the admin can use as you see fit (eg: like the extra fields in registration in 68 now). It will also add a Super Sellers badge/icon to their listings when viewed in any page that is a listing of ads (eg: showlistings) as well as within any single viewlisting of a Super Sellers ad. This will also include the ability to sell this feature as an admin option.

I hope to start beta testing within two weeks, but hopefully sooner.

what version of 68C are you using?

What edition are you using? (ie designer or developer)

    What template are you using?

can you be more specific about the above? did you create a linki and when you click the link its blank or are you saying when you fill in the form and hit submit its blank? We need a little more to go on.

Please post your 68 Classifieds type (Designer, Developer), version (4.0.x, 4.1.x) and template in your postings asking for help. This information will help you get better answers for your posts. A great place to do this is in your signature!

I'm not sure I'm following you? What is the link that you posted? That doesn't match anything that is in the readme or how it works. You upload the seller_store to your modules folder on your server. You activate the seller store in your admin. You place this code where you want the link to appear for someone to create their store: <a href="modules.php?mod=seller_store">My Store</a>

If you are working on it in the admin, you click on the admin link beside the module.

Great put me on the list.

Ok, I added what version i am using to my signature... v4.1.2 Developer. I am using the default theme.

I added the link to layout.tpl as instructed..... I installed the module and activated it as instructed.

But when I go to... ok, I'll use the REAL url

    http://www.easyad.com/modules.php?mod=seller_store

and fill in the store name, add an image, etc.... and submit that form, I get a blank screen.

    If I go into.....

    http://www.easyad.com/administration/modules.php?mod=seller_store&id=1

I can submit that form just fine... I get that nice little message "you will be forwarded".

    I hope that's better

p.s., can someone please explain the difference between the 1 and the 6?

    Hi,

I also installed the seller store,
ANd after entering the name, logo and text i see this error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Format::inputSQL() in /usr/home/deb19947/domains/damiun.nl/public_html/modules/seller_store/index.php on line 141

Does anyone knows what this means, and how it can be solved?

The readme that comes with the seller store explains what the user levels are.

Also, are you running the right version of the seller store for your version of 68C?

    Hi Mike

Just wondering how you're Super Sellers module is coming along? Did you come across my thread from a few days ago - http://www.68classifieds.com/forums.../7738-seller-store-unique-memorable-urls.html - wondered if that might be a possibility?

    Michael
