Is this possible? Working with templates.

I'de like to work on some template design and and code changes on a different directory for testing purposes.

    So my question would be......

Can I set up a folder under my main site called /www.mysite.com/mysite2
and upload my 68C to it and use the same existing database as my operational
website without setting up any additional database?

I understand that test postings or admin changes will effect and show in my main site, though
I just need to view any script and code changes to see how they function and look. If I did happen
to make a test posting I can always delete it anyway.

Let me know if there would be any other issues I need to be concerned about in doing this?

    Thanks

Why would you do that? Why not make a complete copy including your DB in a separate folder or subdomain. Why not use WAMP or XAMP and do it locally on your own machine? Then you don't need to worry about test listings or damaging the DB in anyway. You don't need another license if you are on a subdomain or subdirectory either. Make a copy of your DB using phpAdmin, create a new one in your cpanel and upload it.

The more I thought about it your right. Was quick and painless to boot.

That's why I ask for second opinions, keeps me from getting in trouble...lol

    Thanks!
