Where can I edit list of cities that are on the list under search drop down. In settings I can only edit states and counties but not cities. v4.2.3 Developer
I'm pretty sure that the cities are populated as vistors register on your site, not through the admin.
Ok, I see. I do run UK based site and I would like to only have UK cities there but currently there are users, not active or even banned with cities all over the world, there are also some misspellings so the list looks a mess. So as I understand the only way to edit the list is to go though each individual user registration page and edit the city. Or, can I replace the default city field with custom extra field where user can choose from cities from my pre made drop down list. Just trying to figure out how to organise it bit better.
An Extra Field may be a good option. For the classifieds that I run, I regularly check for misspellings to keep on top of things. If you go into your user section in the admin and download the list as an Excel file, its easy to find the errors.
Thank you for your advise, yes that is a good way to fix misspellings. I have been thinking now what would be the best option for people to search by location and one option is to use default city search field but because it pulls all the cities from every user profile whether user is active or not or blocked then the list don’t look so neat, so my UK cities are mixed up with cities from god know where. To make an advanced extra filed is not practical ether as I just realized that there are thousand of towns in UK , yes it could be type in extra field for city/town location when posting a listing or I found this 68 mode for postcode location radius here that would be most user friendly I think: http://classifiedmods.com/viewlisting.php?view=91
