How to change the administration directory name

    Hello my friends,

    please i want to change the adminsitration directory name, but there is problems with the file administration/includes/init.php ...

    I want to change its name please help me.

    Can I ask why? I can't see the reason for this. Eric will confirm but I think this may require quite a few changes (you will need developer) and you will need to do a fresh install. I think it will also cause many issue if you start to install modules as well.

    Because i think it is dangerous and hacker can introduce himself in the administration panel?

    I see but at the end of the day a good hacker will find your administration folder anyway. I don't think changing the name is going to be a deterrent at all. People intent on breaking into your system are unlikely to even bother going this route as usernames and passwords can be set very obscurely to prevent normal entry. I remember seeing this duff advice on zen cart. What is more important is to never disclose your username or password in non SSL email for example.

    That is quicker than I thought. Will it impact standard modules which provide services in the admin control panel?

    It shouldn't although I can't be certain for all. The only way it would effect it is if you have the 'administration' hard coded into the module.

    when i do the modifications, i get the error:

    Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "login.tpl" in /home/name/www/includes/classes/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1092

    Please help me

    Is that error in the admin or with the site frontend?

    The error is in the administration area, the user area work fine
