Hi - I am running v4.2.4 Developer (ArabHorseMarket.com) and we have had 2 random users not be able to complete their registration. They receive the email, click on the link and then are told the email will not verify and to re-register with a different email. The user is trapped in "User awaiting email confirmation" status. We had 1 about 2 weeks ago that this happened to and 1 today. One was a hotmail and the other a gmail email and they're valid email formats. So, as admin, when I go into their user account, it won't let me change them to a registered user. After I change it, and then hit "submit", it kicks me back to the main login screen. The weird thing is this happens randomly. We have several new users join with no problems but now I do not think anyone can register.
Just so this doesn't become an 'orphaned' thread, I would like to include the solution that worked for Nancy. The local php.ini file installed in the root of the 68C installation had register_globals turned off but the setting didn't not cascade down into the administration folder. Once the php.ini file was duplicated and moved to the administration folder, everything worked properly.
