    I have followed the instructions but when I get to the part that I am supposed to change the permissions on the following files:
    * catimages
    * Connections
    * license
    * photos
    * templates_c
    * thumbs
    * uploads
    but using FireFTP I can not change the permissions. How do i do change the permissions? I try the right click thing on them but nothing happens.

    Do you have cpanel with your hosting provider. If you do then it is very easy to change file/folder permissions with the file manager.

    Thank you that helped but I am still have the same error:ERROR! Please CHMOD to 777. I did notice that on my cPanel my permissions read 0777, will that have an affect?

    Change them with your cpanel. Normally right click and then set them to what you want. I have notice may hosting providers block you from changing permissions through FTP programs. I now use cpanel if I need to do things like this.

    Got it thank you

    Thank you for all your help. I tried changing the permissions in cPanel and that did not work. For some reason as I was uploading files using FileZilla I was able to change the permission on the file on the server. Ok, now I start learning how to set up my site. See you all in other threads
