Many of you may know how important Google +1 is becoming and it is growing fast because of the Google Circles application. Putting a Google +1 button on your 68C site is very easy too and i am becoming strongly convinced that Google is now deadly serious about taking on Facebook by creating a strong base of website owners and developers.

Well I can confirm that google+1 gives a site a slight lift in the SERPS. The other thing to look at although quite complex is the use of schema.org and the use of microformat markup in templates to define structured data with snippets. Seems to work very well on showlistings and viewlistings templates.
