Thanks Beside the new design and the “Private Messages” I’m not sure I see the difference and the new stuff on V.4 Could you list and elaborate just a bit on the new “stuff” Few Questions: a) What is the “Private Messages” for and what would be its advantage? b) Are you going to change the way a customer pick a category to place an ad? (This was my main concern as I will have over 1000 categories and it makes it very difficult to scroll all those categories and pick one) I’ve seen a few that are pretty sweet. Ebay type or a “search” that direct and shrink choice with each “key” that is entered and highlight choices results. (both methods are been used by other classifieds script.) c) Are you going to have an option to group extra fields by category choice? Sample: We could build and then pick the “Automotive” extra fields group and attach to all “choice of categories” (as it is now) with the difference that we would attach one group verse attaching each individual extra field to the “choice of categories”. If you have many categories and many extra fields it becomes a puzzle on what goes where! Thanks
This helps you from an administrator standpoint. A lot of our users are getting hit with spammers trying to contact owners and steal their money. With the private messages everything is internal so you can track and ban based off of it. I don't see us adding this in. However I think Juven14 just submitted a module for v3.1 that will allow this. That is a good idea. Unfortunately it will not be in the first release of v4. It may be added a later time.
That last point about grouping the extra fields by categories is a great idea. I set up some new categories today and had to re-assign all of the extra fields. Im aware also that larry has something like 70 extra fields which will be apain for him if he needs to add a new category. I can look at this if you want?
