Just wondering if a module or customization is available that will count how old an animal is. thanks, Jerry
Sorry, but there is nothing in 68 Classifieds that would tell you how old an animal is. Of course you could setup an extra field to let your users enter the age of an animal.
they would have to come back regularly to update all of their puppy listings if that was the case. I want a person to enter in a date of birth and then it would start counting the weeks and months old a puppy is. I want something similar to puppyfind.com I was hoping someone had already made something like this and I just missed it.
You can still create an extra field for "date of birth", it just wouldn't have the automated "age" part. In all seriousness, an end user can easily figure out the age from the date of birth. I understand that isn't as "convenient" for the end users. Of course, it could be done in a module. The question is, would it be worth it to you to have something custom designed just to put in "(xx days)" next to the date of birth. It is such a specialized request, which in the 6+ years I've been working with the 68 Classifieds script has not been requested before. (e.g. A developer would not have a market to sell a module like this to others.)
I did make such a thing for menalto's Gallery2 using the album creation stamp. I had some extra help from the guys on the forums there. I haven't purchased 68classifieds yet, but I do understand it uses the smarty engine. Gallery2 also uses smarty so this should be a fairly easy port don't you think.
