Hello, I would like to purchase 68 classifieds and from what I read in the forums, it seems like HostGator is a good web host to go with. However, I chatted with their customer service and they said I would have to have a VPS account in order to use 68 Classifieds, because it was the only thing that supported the ioncube loader. Is this correct? I also found this on their web site: " Is it possible to install ionCube PHP Accelerator on shared server? This is not possible on a shared or reseller plan. Basically, any kind of PHP op caching is not available with our PHP configuration. You must upgrade to a VPS or Dedicated Server to install ionCube PHP Accelerator." A VPS account is pretty pricey to just start out with. And from what I have read, it seems like others have had success with the Business plan?? If that is the case, how so? Or is there another host that supports ioncube for a decent price/month? Thanks!
Katie, unfortunately whoever you talked to at HostGator gave you absolutely incorrect information. Ioncube is on every single server that HostGator has!!!
Thanks to both of you. How weird - not impressed with Hostgator's live- chat personnel! But I still like their hosting options. I'll check out HostDime as well and then make my decision. Thanks!
