060811 BAD COOKIE, BAD, BAD COOKIE: Our cookie won't allow me to log out without first deleting it. When I press the logout link it takes 5 minutes or more and often just seems to lock up. This goes for admin and test accounts. I thought it might just be our network PCs but when I test it at our local public library the same thing happens. The moment I delete the cookie the logout works. Pls advise, Thanx
Why do you keep posting questions in this forum that have nothing to do with Templates, HTML, CSS or Design??? It would also help if you put the basic information as to what version of 68 Classifieds that you are using and which template you are using. I've not seen an issue like this before. Is this just happening in admin or both admin and the front end? The admin has it's own set of php files for this functionality. Providing information specific to your issue will help you get proper help and assistance. My first thought would be that perhaps you have a corrupted logout.php file(s) on your server. For the front end it is located in the root directory of your installation and for the admin it is in the root of the administration directory.
Fair enough. Guess I should have put these in tech support. I guess I was thinking bec. they effect my templates, html, etc. that this would be the logical category. I'll guess better next time. My version: v4.2.3 Developer Installed about 2 weeks ago. This is happening in front end AND backend on multiple computers. So, you're suggesting I try replacing the logout file in both places?
Having just a link is not going allow someone to help or duplicate the issue unless we are also able to login as well, as the issue is about logging out... or the failure to log out. Perhaps a link and a dummy account.
I think that is fairly obvious don't you? The ability to register and open an account. Glad that you thought about the details.
@dwalley submit a ticket for this and provide your admin login details with a link to the installation, i'll check it out.
TENTATIVE SOLUTION: Reuploaded logout.php Admin and user files. Worked like a charm. Had a little trouble but I'lll check it tomorrow at various other locations. I'll keep you posted. Fingers crossed.
