ok..some candid feedback would be appreciated...any good comparisons on 68C vs something like Directory Press (wordpress directory software). The DP seems much easier to use/set up vs 68C but I am sure thats not the entire story. Is one better than the other, more robust, etc . Would you use either one ? thanks for any feedback
It totally depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you're looking for a ready built Directory option, DP is just that. If you're looking for a very scalable script that can be easily modified to look and perform the way you want, 68C will be your choice...mind you, a good knowledge of XHTML and CSS will come in handy One of the problems I've experienced is that when using WP themes and plugins, you are relying on 2 software companies to make one product work. If WP updates, your theme may fail and vice versa. Also, you need a deep knowledge in the design area using Child Themes if you want to get creative with the overall look and feel. With 68C, you can do pretty much anything a directory script can do and maybe even more with the flexibility of the category and extra field options. Have a look at the online docs for more info on this.
yes..good points..my frustration is that it takes a bit more tech skills to drive C68..and I am stuck everytime there is an uprade..with wp..you just push a button
