Is it possible to provide a special registration link that allows a user to sign up automatically to a specific user group? I want to take away the need for an admin to have to manually find the user and switch them to the different group.

If it's not possible how difficult is it to create something like that?

I did that in the earlier 4.09 version by adding an additional userjoin file and linking it in with a membership mod. Would be curious is there is an easier approach in the latest version, myself. Gotta be.

Another thought would be to modify layout.tpl as to what the guest would see or not. I am currently investigating changing the values of a "registered" user to a different default group. Would be interested in other's reply.
