Default Noticed CSS Being Used For Some Forms But Not All

So I noticed that the form appearance on Search.php is being handled by CSS. But how come the forms on login.php, contactus.php and the usercheckout.php are not using CSS to control the look of the fields? And even the submit button on usercheckout.php is not using the default browser's handling of the code. So where do I go to change and apply the CSS to these forms for all these pages? Basically I want all the forms to have the same CSS treatment as the search.php page does.

Thanks!

There are three things basically controlling the look of your site.

1. Your browser default interpretation of styling - safari, FF and IE will show things like submit buttons diffrently (often with the best attempts of designers to stop this)
2. The template css file
3. There may be inline styling in the individual template files.

What I will say is that template design is much more complicated than it appears. It takes considerable effort and skill to make them work not only aesthetically but cross browser.

Right. And I understand the browser behavior dictating how forms look proprietary to the respective browser. What I am talking about is the fact that not all the forms are being controlled by CSS. Some are and some aren't. So I am trying to make sure that they do look at the same with CSS. And I know this is possible since some forms are already custom. Does this makes sense? I am just trying to figure out why the forms without CSS are not taking the defined CSS styles.

I think the reason is because all the css forms use an id of form whereas the others do not.

So the css would be something like #form element { }
