Default Anyone interested in a tutorial?

After giving my site a facelift I thought to myself..."Self, you should have documented what you did and saved some screen shots".

Anyway, what I was thinking, if there was any interest of course, was writing up a fairly detailed tutorial on giving your site a facelift. Something a little beyond simple color modifications of existing table headers etc.

In short, how to take the default templates and turn them into something like this.

Larry What a good idea.

That would be a great help.

Well for a dum person like me anyway.

What version would it be based on? OR does it not matter.

It would be based on version 3.0.x but it would likely carry over to 3.1 as well.

Lhotch .... Eric?,

1. It might also helpful (possibly in another tutorial???) to briefly identify all the folders and/or files in 68classifieds and what they are used for.

For example, thumbs folder contains thumbnail images of every photo uploaded by users when posting their ads. No images appear in this folder until the first ad is posted.

2. And any helpful developer hints.

For example, include {debug} at top of page to reveal ... etc

So that new users/developers can quickly get an overview of where to find everything and how its used. And have documentation to refer to when playing with 68classifieds.

Cheers,
sleepy

Dear Larry,

That is a great idea... and I would be willing to contribute some cash for your efforts... although you did not say you wanted to be paid, I think you should be compensated for your fine efforts! You are a fine asset to this forum and I think others would agree!

Oh well, that was my two cents worth...

Yes I agree, it is one of the best forums I have been to.

All people on here are most helpfull.

One forum I visit ( not often ) when you ask somthing you get back READ THE MANUAL OR they say are you daft or what.

I would be more than willing to help pay for Larry's time he has helped more
than once and more to the point he gives you VERY detailed instructions.

What I say is we all have to learn.

What is very easy to some it is VERY hard for others.

Well done to all

How others on here take the time to write code for others is just GREAT.
