Adding viewlisting and showlisting templates

I would like to be able to add extra viewlisting and showlisting templates to my site and be able to access these via administration. That way I can keep the existing templates viewlisting, viewlisting2, showlisting, showlisting2 and add variations eg viewlisting3 to test out new page/template designs.

Does anyone know what changes I need to make to admin templates so I have option of choosing my new templates via admin (eg see viewlisting3.tpl option in �Search Results Template� dropdown on [Admin] search listings page).

The easiest thing to do when starting to modify your templates is to create a new directory in your template directory and then copy the contents of the current /templates/default/ into the new directory

Example, if you use an FTP program and look at your site you will see

/templates/default

add a new directory so you have

/templates/deafult
/templates/test_template

Now when you go into admin the dropdown for your template selection will have

Default
test_template
