Default CSS Horizontal & Filtering modules

I'm interested in the CSS Horizontal Listings and the Filter Modules. I have a few questions that I was hoping you could answer.

1. Do your modules only work with the templates you provide or will they work with the included default template?

2. On the CSS Horizontal listing do I have the flexibility to include only featured listings for a specific category when viewing the ads? In my case I might want to show featured and latest on the home page and only featured on the ad listings pages (when browsing and searching).

3. For the filter listings can I control what is filtered by more than one category. For example, I'm putting together a real estate site so Max price, include image, are two examples.

Thanks.

Well yes they will work. You will need to strip them out and be responsible for any restyling necessary. It is fairly straight forward to do. In fact you can strip out any of the modules if you desire. Modules like the external horizontal listings, external search results, popular listings, XML sitemap generator and the really awesome multiple image uploader module. They are also very useful. See the list here

The css horizontal listings does these things and a lot more as well. You can build up many combinations. You can set combinations of all these things when calling the module for example.

category: all or x , number of items, owner, show_price, type: featured, new, top, random, featured_new, featured_top and filtered, filter on/off. In fact there are alot more parameters which can be sent. You can also create simple lists of links too for different search queries.

The filter listings module will automatically pick up your geographic locations listed in your 68C admin control panel. You can also filter on an extrafield. You can only filter by one variable.

You would use search to filter by price in this way.

Default RE: Filter Mod - Template Codes

I notice you said the filter mod works with the default 68 classifieds program.

However, when you say you will need to strip it down, what do you mean exactly ? does it work like a normal mod that i would upload to my FTP, activate via admin - then place the mod where required ?

or is there more to it than that ?

Thanks

Jase.

It will work with only minor styling alterations (perhaps one or two lines) and the inclusion of one line of additional code in the header of the layout.tpl. You basically just need to embed the two main links used for filter into your template and make them look how you want them to appear. Many customers have done this.

You just upload the module set as normal. There is nothing special to do in terms of the modules per se.

It is not sold separately. You basically need to buy the pack of modules as there are connections between them. They are complementary. All of the modules can be used on any template with a little effort. It only requires some skill with css in a few places and some minor changes to the structure of your layout.tpl file. For example you could get them running in the default template fairly easily.
