Default Extra Fields Check Boxes Validation at User End

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
Example: v4.1.10 Developer

What template are you using?
3Col

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
Regarding Extra Fields...

I got 3 extra Fields defined (Check boxes A, B and C), under the administration, these three fields are set up to be "not required"'... However, in the user end when placing an ad, I would like to do a validation so at least one of the check box extra fields is clicked before users are allowed to move on...I think it is possible but I am not sure where to change it...Just need a bit of guidance...Thank you...

Thank you,
Leo

Perhaps the easiest solution is that you create ONE checkbox field with the three different options, then make your ONE field required.

How about a single drop down list with the 3 options?

Thanks for your reply, I think It is not really I am asking, I am sorry that I never give a proper explanation for what I really want...Let me show some examples...

Field name: Music, Field Type : Check box
--- 3 Options declared : Guitar, Piano, Drum

Field name: Sports, Field Type : Check box
---3 Options declared : Soccer, Baseball, Swimming

Field name: Languages, Field Type : Check box
---3 Options declared : English, Japanese, Spanish

So as long as users check on one of the option under certain field name, then everything should work fine....But if the user never check on any of them, then validation should take place and prompt that users should click on at least one of the options....Where should I modify to create this kind of validation...

Thanks,
Leo

The answer is still the same. I would recommend that you make one extra field and make it required. Of course now that you have filled in the details of what you are trying to do, you need to make this extra field in the fashion as when I answered your earlier post/question here.

A parent/child extra field. The parent field (set to required) would then have the options: Music, Sports, Languages

Then your child fields dependent on what was chosen for the parent field would be as you have already described.
