Default freecap.php taking a lot of CPU resource

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
V4.1.6 Developer
What template are you using? Default

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
/modules/freecap/freecap.php taking a lot of CPU resource. Because of server overload, I have checked my logs and saw /modules/freecap/freecap.php taking 22% of cpu... Is this normal?

What do the rest of your logs look like? Do you have a large amount of hits to pages that have frecap displayed on them? If so, then you have someone trying to, likely via script, to flood your site with spam.

some others I see are:
/usr/sbin/mysqld --basedir/ --datadir/var/lib/mysql --usermysql --pid-file/var/lib/mysql/ns1.xxxx.com.mv.pid --skip-external-locking

[restartsrv_sshd]

/scripts/restartsrv_queueprocd

is there a way to confirm if a script is attempting to spam? thanks

Look at your access logs and see who is accessing what pages. If you have a lot of hits from a give IP to a page like contactus.php then its safe to assume they are trying to spam you, especially if you are not getting a lot of contact e-mails.

Another thing to consider, if you allow unregistered site visitors the ability to contact the owner and have captcha in place, then a captcha image will be generated everytime someone views an ad.
