Default Sub-sitemaps

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
Example: V4.1.3 Developer
What template are you using?
Moded fluid

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:

Has anyone any experience in submitting multiple sub-sitemaps?
As we have over 5,000 categories, the sitemap contains too many URLs to be Google indexed properly. Breaking down these categories so that parent categories (and their sub-cats and ad listings) are listed in sub-sitemaps would overcome the issue.

The existing sitemap module cannot do this, so if anyone has found a way around it, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is an issue. The only thing I can suggest is to break up the file into to bits and submit each of them to google in the same account. Google will find all the urls which are linked anyway so I would not worry too much. You can't force google in reality to crawl more than it wants to. You can only offer it advice which it may or may not decide to take.
