Default friendmail - subject shown as ?

What version of 68 Classifieds are you running?
V4.1.6 Developer

What template are you using?
deepsea

Please describe in detail the issue you are having:
When I send a friendmail the receiver only gets a ? (question mark) as subject, although I have defined a message in my language.php in German.

Here the defined line:

//friendmail
define('MAIL_FRIENDMAIL_SUBJ', 'Ihr Freund dachte, das knnte Sie interessieren.');

Hope, anyone can help me.

Thank you in advance.

Harald

Can you change that line to this and see if it works:
Code:
define('MAIL_FRIENDMAIL_SUBJ', 'Ihr Freund dachte, das könnte Sie interessieren.');

Default Problem with German umlauts

Thank you for your reply.

Did not work, subject showed the sentence, but as below:

Ihr Freund dachte, das könnte Sie interessieren.

I changed ö to this sign - now it works.

But is not funny, that I cannot write German umlauts through my keyboard - and always have to watch out. And support cannot tell me, which files to change, to have German charset support. I just want to work with the script, not develop it...So time goes by, until you have solved all these small problems.

A lot of times you can write the language out in the language file just as you type. However to do this you need to make sure the file is encoded in utf-8 format. This is normally done through the text editing application you use.
