Default Remove Categories

I am only going to have one category on my site.

Is there a way to remove all references to categories so that when someone places an ad they don't have to select the one category from the dropdown? Also when someone clicks browse it will take them directly to the listings instead of the category page.

I may be wrong but if you have just one category, that step in the checkout process is automatically bypassed. Check that though. As for removing the word categories then it is simply a case of changing the word in your language/english.php file and other template files where it may be used directly. Can't think where else it may be used directly but you will find them if it is not the case.

It isn't being skipped. I am using your Fluid template and when I click on browse it takes me to the category listing that shows just one category, I would like this to go directly to the listings. Also when I click on Pricing it gives me a dropdown menu and I have to select the one category before it will show pricing.

No I said the checkout process.

This comes into a whole different area of customization. You will need to modify several files. You can disable the pricing (adpack) module in your control panel and as you only have one category you can make an extra page using the page editor to display your packages - it will be maunal. Alternatively if you have lots of packages and they change often but just one category you can try to modify the adpack module itself. Not so straight forward to do that.

As for the browse page, I would simply change the link in the layout.tpl file and accordion.tpl file (modules/templatezones/templates/) to the actual showlistings url. You will then need to go into the showlistings.tpl file and take out the breadcrumb so people can't click back to the main categories.php page. There is another thread on the forum, If I remember correctly how to manipulate the search function. You will need to do this for the quick search in the sidebar too. Again, edit the module itself or disable it.

Basically, you are trying to change 68C into something a little different from its intended functionality. You need to accept that you may have to make compromises.

If you are not familiar with coding you will probably struggle doing all this. Let us know how you get on.
