Hello,

I am trying to setup 68 Classifieds for the first time on my local machine.

Everything seemed to be fine till I hit step6.php where i got a

Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /Users/Pete/Sites/Echo/setup/includes/step6.php on line 20

It seems to have killed any further progress, as under the "Database Information" heading there is nothing.

I am running PHP Version 5.3.0, Mac OS X 10.6

I had the same problem with the new version php i just went back a version and it fixed it.

Thanks mate, what version did you drop down to?

I would like to stay with the recent PHP version if possible.

What does 68 recommend?

5.2.9
I didnt try what Eric suggested in the thread i linked in my previous post because i did not have time to try.
5.2.9 works faultlessly anyway.
