Hey guys maybe this is simple and I did look around and found nothing about this but when i run my setup it just sits indefinitely on" Verifying Database Connection:"

Has anyone seen this?

I can connect to the DB as the user in question without issue, the firewall port is open. My dev environment is Windows Vista (my home pc while i create my site) and I am using the newest developer edition, Apache 2.2x, Mysql 5.4 (I had hell installing anything else but this on Vista, but this works fine)

Any ideas? If it gave any sort of error, I could diagnose but as it wont I am left guessing.

Have you checked that your classifieds.php file is setup correctly? Can you use phpadmin to access your database?

It is an initial install not an upgrade. Can you explain the PHPadmin - is it included standard with php. How can I use it to connect. Thanks for the prompt reply by the way.

Ok, I sorted out some issues in php.ini allowing me to load the phpadmin page. Now i see a diff error.

Connection Interrupted

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.

I figured it out. A module was being loaded accidentally which was found in the path (the only lib in mysql\bin) i copied the one from php's bin to there and woila. The two were incompatible...! Problem fixed. Def not a simple one - it took some SERIOUS digging to find this bad boy....
