The site URL is stored in the database. You may need to use phpmyadmin or similar to alter the data in the database itself.

Change it in site admin settings first so {$smarty.const.URL} gets set correctly. As it is a subdomain you will not need to change your 68c customer account (i am assuming it is a sub-domain of the registered domain). Make sure you are using the same database of course as well from this subdomain. Test and then you are then safe to delete the main domain contents. Then create the second subdomain. However, you will need to create a new database and do the setup for that.

You dont. Path information is stored in the database as I already stated. You set the URL to your site by logging into admin then main settings and you set the URL to your site.

Main Settings - 68 Classifieds

If you can not access your sites admin it is because the database has a value that differs from your actual site location and you will need to edit that value in the database manually as I originally stated.

Well I will have two installs in separate subdirectories and each will point to a different database (one UK, one US).

Surely the files must reference a database somewhere?

So I can point each one to its relevant database.
