On my site I have the same problem. I can't write anything into any of the character limited fields.

This problem only occurs in Opera for me!

Do you have javascript enabled in your browser? What version of javascript are you running?

This appears to be the same issue as in these two other threads:

Error when entering Description

and here

Character limit in checkout

It does not appear to have ever been actually reported as a bug. I will create a bug report for this.

It's not the same issue in my opinion.

In this case (and for me only in opera) the character limited fields will just let you enter a few characters, often no characters.

The other two threads are describing the problem that for example not 500 chars can be entered but only 497. Seems like special characters are converted to html codes and then take more space than just 1 character.

Ok, it could also be the same bug. But different behavior.

I have javascript enabled on all browsers including opera. I'm glad that opera isn't used by the mayor part of the users. There is always trouble with opera...

Regardless of your particular symptom, all of these seem to stem from the same code portions and are related to the character counts fields. I reported the bug and included the symptoms as well as each individual thread.

This is NOT a browser related problem, as i have created an user at the demo website ( 68 Classifieds ) and I'm able to publish ads without the issue.

Try this: http://www.68classifieds.com/forums/...eds-opera.html

Ignore the topic title, the problem wasn't Opera specific, you just need to update jquery validate.

That's because Eric updated jquery on the demo site.
