Default Width issue in Purple Template

I'm running v4.1.3 Developer edition - purple template

I've gone in and changed the purple temple width from the 700 pixel default to 800 pixels. This I did in the layout.tpl file under the purple template in admin. Everything seems to accept that new setting EXCEPT the two (2) purple colored menu bars. The top one displays things like "Home", "Search", "Browse", etc., and the bottom one is just a purple bar with no text in it. They seem to be staying at 700 pixels. I've looked through all the files including the css files for both the purle and default templates, and nothing seems to be controlling this width issue.

Does anyone know where this setting might be?

Thanks.

Rich

Rich,

The top navigation uses a background image (topnav.jpg) This background image is 700 pixels wide.

If you are not using the firefox browser with the firebug and web developer plugin you are doing yourself a huge disservice and wasting a lot of time. Thay can easily help you pinpoint issues, show you images and colors assigned via css etc etc.

As for your particular problem, do you have a link to the site so we can see what you are seeing?

Thumbs up

Thank you Mike, that was it. Couldn't find topnav.jpg, but I did find nav.jpg. I wasn't looking for a jpg file. I was looking for a table width. Next time I'll look deeper before I post. I just redid the file, uploaded it, and it worked perfect. As always, you knew right where to go. Thank you very much.

Rich

No problem, Rich. I would heed Lhotch's advice regarding Firefox and the plugins.
