Default Modify fields displayed in the listings results (search, featured, new)

Hello,

I just acquired 68C developer edition yesterday. I'd like to customize the search results, featured and new listings pages for a real estate website purpose :
- Not show the City, Region and Country fields which are those of the owner and not necessarly those of the real estate product
- Add new fields such as the real estate product location (city), the square feets and the number of rooms

Is that possible and how ?

I did search and tried to modify toplistings.php without sucess.

Thanks for your help.

Yann - France

There's a few of things that I would recommend in your situation.

First in the admin, I would change the "Settings"/"Search Settings" to disallow search on the following fields, City, State and Country.

Second, I would change the "Settings"/"User View Settings" and turn off the following fields, Sellers address, Sellers city, Sellers Postal Code, Sellers country, Display postal code.

Third, in the "Users"/"User Groups" (eg: Guest, Registered Users, etc.) turn off the display of those same items in the search results and the viewlistings.

To add the items that you describe would be done in the admin in the "Categories"/"Extra Fields".

*** Solicitation ***
Lastly, you might consider purchasing my Postal Codes Module (France Data Set) so that your end users can search by postal code and radius (in KM) for listings that meet that criteria. This is NOT a requirement for your stated questions, however you may find that very beneficial for a site selling Real Estate.

Thanks for your answer.

Your solution is fine for deleting default fields from the showlistings page. But, if you want to show extra fields in the showlistings pages, you must not only create those extra fileds but also add some code to your chosen showlistings template as mentioned in the following links :
http://www.68classifieds.com/forums/...tings-php.html
Get Extra Field - 68 Classifieds

To display extra fields in the showlistings pages, you should add the following line in your template :

{get_extra_field id=$entry.id fid=1}
