Hi,

Is there a way to manage/edit listings externally via excel? My client has a couple hundred listings that need to be uploaded and I'm wondering if it's possible, or does he have to do them 1 at time?

Thanks.

Yes, it is possible.

Maffo has a bulk uploader module for sale.

I've done full classified conversions from other classifieds software to 68 which I've used a combination of Excel and Filemaker Pro to do this (they both their own strengths and weaknesses for this sort of thing). Of course, you also need access to the db with phpMyAdmin or an equivalent.

The thing is that you have to know exactly what you are doing, because the database tables are tied together to bring the full functionality of the classifieds software script. For example, it's not a just an ad listing that shows. Yes, you will have items in the listings table, but you will also need to tie it to the correct category, extra fields, orders, customer, etc., etc., etc..
