Default Document type

Hi all
Would it effect the overall functionability of the script (apart from styles and look) if I changed the DocType from XHTML 1.0 Strict to HTML 4.01 in the layout.tpl . Its just that all our sites are HTML 4.01 and we are used to working with that.

Any comments

Chris

I don't see an issue with doing that from a functional view, however I doubt that switching the doc type would validate.

You shouldn't really have issue with working with XHTML strict if you are already familiar with using HTML 4. The only differences are that any elements that don't have separate open close sets (e.g. <br>, <img> must have a space and "\"at the end before the closing ">") and you can't put inline styles. All styles must be in the CSS sheet.
