Default email the owner does not show up

Hi guys,

Problaby another stupid question, but I will ask anyways.

When logged in as admin, on the right side, under 'Printer Friendly Version' there is a good link for 'Contact Owner, which opens a page with an email form and the subject line is their listing.

However, when I am a guest, this link is not there, and I have to scroll way to the bottom to email the owner, (under the google map) and my web visitors are getting confused, and are missing the contact owner emial box all the way down the bottom.

Any ideas why that link does not show for guests? I have looked into group settings, cannot find anything in there.

Hi,
You define it in user groups.

Default Not in user groups

Hi Nick

I have found the 'contact owner' allowed in user groups, however, it still does not work if you are just a guest, (not logged in)

Any other suggestions?

What version of 68C are you using?

what template are you using?

Did you edit the guest user group?

Default email owner not there

Hi Larry, running version 4 designer.

I have attached 2 screen shots.....

1. logged in admin view
2. guest view

As you can see, the contact link is just not there. I tried to edit 'viewlistingextras2.tpl' and can get the Contact Owner to show, but then when clicked, it makes you try to log in.

I have been into the guest settings, allowing them to contact owners, but that seems to have no affect as to what I am after

Correct me if im wrong but that link is to send a pm, the user would need to log in.
I suggest you just use the contact owner form at the bottom of the page.
Cheers

Thats understandable that you have to log in, it saves the user time by not having to enter their name and email address. If they have not registered they can just use the contact the owner form on the bottom of the page.

Although i like the idea of having a seperate page for contacting the owner, make one that you have to put in your email address and name if your not logged in, saves space on the viewlisting page, just an idea for Eric.
Cheers,
Nick
